Lauren Albert has over 25 years of legal experience including commercial, intellectual property, and antitrust litigation; matrimonial law; and antitrust mergers and counseling. For 16 years, she was a partner at Manhattan-based Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider, LLP. Previously, she was an attorney at the law firms of Dewey Ballantine and Proskauer Rose.
She received a J.D. law degree from George Washington University in 1988 and was a member of the Law Review. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Brown University, from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1985.
Lauren is admitted to practice law in New York State and Washington, D.C., and is a member of the American Bar Association, New York Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, and the New York Women’s Bar Association. She is also a member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York.
Lauren believes in giving back to the community. She has been a volunteer for 15 years with the nonprofit organization Her Justice, providing pro bono matrimonial and family legal services to low income women throughout New York City, many of whom are poor, immigrants, or victims of domestic violence. She also is a volunteer at The Good Dog Foundation which provides therapy dog services to people in local health care, social service, educational and community facilities and at disaster sites around the country.
